Copyright and Publishing Rights

The Journal of Carcinogenesis Research (JCR) upholds rigorous publication ethics and copyright policies in line with international standards to promote transparency, integrity, and equitable dissemination of scientific knowledge. Authors retain ownership of their work while granting the journal the necessary rights for publication and distribution.

1. Copyright Ownership
Upon acceptance, authors grant JCR a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, and archive their manuscript in all formats, including digital and print. Authors retain copyright and maintain the rights to:

  • Share their work via institutional repositories or preprint servers, provided appropriate citation to JCR is included.

Articles published by JCR are released under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0) or equivalent open-access licenses. This framework permits free and unrestricted access, reuse, and adaptation of the work, with the stipulation that original authors and the journal source are properly credited. The license supports both non-commercial and commercial use within ethical guidelines.

3. Author Responsibilities
By submitting manuscripts to JCR, authors affirm that:

  • Their work is original and does not violate third-party copyright.
  • Permissions for previously published material such as figures or tables have been obtained and acknowledged appropriately.
  • All included copyrighted content complies with permissions and attribution requirements.

4. Publisher Rights
JCR reserves the right to:

  • Edit, format, and disseminate the manuscript according to publishing standards.
  • Archive and index the article in recognized academic repositories and databases.
  • Enforce ethical publication practices, including corrections or retractions when necessary.

5. Third-Party Content and Permissions
Authors are solely responsible for securing permissions for any third-party content incorporated in their submission (e.g., images, data sets). Proper acknowledgment of such materials must be provided.

6. Withdrawal and Retraction Policy
In accordance with COPE guidelines, JCR may retract or withdraw articles due to ethical violations, plagiarism, or substantial errors. Authors requesting withdrawal post-acceptance must comply with journal policies and may be subject to fees if significant editorial work has been performed.
